NEW INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION Ltd. (hereafter NIC) is one of the entities investing in the development of new technologies and providing support for ITG's constituent companies. The Company represents the ITG Consortium in the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) - the European information network supporting technology transfers. NIC is the only profit consortium in Ukraine to have become member of the EEN-UA consortium. EEN is Europe's largest business support network that brings together more than 600 business support organizations (among them chambers of commerce and industry, technology centers, research institutes and development agencies) from 49 countries (including 27 EU members) to provide small to medium-size enterprises with integrated services relating to business development and innovation, particularly through informing on the EU law, identification of investors, business cooperation support, company internationalization, knowledge and technology transfers and ensuring a part in EU's framework programs (7RP, CIP).
One of the State innovation policy priorities in Ukraine is country's integration with global technology transfer networks. This provides opportunities in terms of broader engagement with transnational consortiums, attracting direct and venture foreign investments, setting up strategic alliances between Ukrainian companies and the top market actors in foreign countries, as well as the access to databases on exchanges, venture capital funds and other information and financial resources. NIC has been closely engaged with leading research organizations of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, particularly on innovative development of the national economy based on current-generation information and communication technologies. NIC's participation in the European information network EEN will open access to cutting-edge technologies for Ukrainian companies operating in all industry sectors. This will enable domestic companies, in collaboration with NIC and Ukraine's National Academy of Sciences, to fundamentally upgrade their technical capacities and to bring competitive products to the export market.
The NEW INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION also aims to provide a complete set of services related with the detection, registration and safeguard of intellectual property rights and implementation of those rights.
The main services provided by the company are:
Consortium more than 60 patents on inventions, the NEW INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION is also one of the biggest owners of alcoholic beverage brand names in Ukraine. There are over 40 brand names in its possession, including 'Kniazhyi Kelykh', "Golden Gate', "Posolskaya', "Drevnekievskaya' and others. The right to use these and other brand names under license agreements is vested in NIC. The latter uses the revenues for investing in the development of new technologies and brand names. Optionally, agreements may be reached on the transfer of brand name ownership rights to manufacturers concerned, as was the case with brand names such as "Tamada' and 'Mariott' among a few others.
One more business activity of priority for NEW INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION is the development of innovative designs for construction industry applications.
In carrying out projects related with commercialization of intellectual property assets, the specifics of the asset being commercialized are taken into account along with the collective interests of all the stakeholders - both individuals and businesses. Specifically – in cooperation with construction industry enterprises, using own developments and with support of own engineer staff - a number of new technologies have been implemented in industrial and housing construction projects. Selected technologies developed by NIC's engineers were exploited in building the Diplomat-Hall on Zhylianska Street Kyiv - the biggest apartment house in Ukraine in 2005. One of the great achievements of the company is also the creation of new girderless construction technologies that allowed for less than three months to build in 2007, two 16-storey residential house in Obuhov, Kyiv region, "turnkey". Without finishing, a prime cost 1m2 area was less than $ 300 US. Construction work is now nearing completion for a modern facility to manufacture building house blocks based on the mentioned technology.
